GE Insurance Solutions Adds Expertise to U.S.Marine & Energy Reinsurance Team; Al Rudel Named Senior Underwriter

KANSAS CITY, Mo.--Sept. 14, 2004--GE Insurance Solutions (NYSE:GE) today announced the appointment of Al Rudel to Senior Underwriter in its Specialty Lines Reinsurance Marine and Energy Divisions. Rudel will be responsible for marine and energy reinsurance business written in the U.S.

We are delighted to secure the services of an experienced reinsurance professional and look forward to working with Al, said Peter Sydenham, Global Leader, GE Insurance Solutions Specialty Lines Reinsurance, Marine and Energy. Al brings vast industry experience to our reinsurance team and will be instrumental in helping the team deliver value to our customers.

Most recently, Rudel served as Vice President of Reinsurance for Zurich Global Energy. Prior to that, he was Vice President, Marine & Aviation Division at Everest Reinsurance Group, Ltd. and worked in underwriting roles at Resolute Reinsurance Company and Highlands Insurance Company.

Rudel graduated from Pace University with a B.B.A. in Marketing. He served as past president of the American Marine Insurance Forum. He will be based in GE Insurance Solutions' New York City offices at 1114 Avenue of Americas, 33rd Floor, New York, NY 10036-7703.
