The services are designed to allow buying organizations to lower procurement cycle times and reduce overhead costs associated with managing supplier catalogs.
Poet will provide content management software, called eSupplierWeb, that allows a buying organization to import supplier catalog content, cleanse the data, apply classification and custom pricing, and then load the data into its procurement systems in the appropriate data format.
GE Global eXchange Services (GXS) will provide software hosting services, as well as project planning and management, testing, training and ongoing technical support. Supplier community enablement and management services are also available from GXS.
The hosted services are compatible with all major electronic catalog data exchange formats, as well as major e-procurement, supply chain network and marketplace platforms, enabling buyers and suppliers to trade based upon clean, current and customized product information.
