Daniel is a Managing Director of Investing. He is based in Boston, MA, and joined the team in 2016.
Daniel and his team focus on what’s next in the energy field, investing in highly innovative and strategically relevant early and mid-stage companies. They look at both the electricity sector (renewables, energy storage, electric transportation, etc.) and overall resource efficiency.
Before GE, he held several positions throughout the energy industry, most recently at National Grid as Director of Ventures. Prior to National Grid, he served as both VP Marketing and Strategy and Interim CEO at Solar Universe. He was also with RockPort Capital Partners, as both Partner and Principal for nine years, and ZS Associates for four years.
Daniel holds a PhD of Physical Chemistry from University of Oxford, an MBA with distinction from INSEAD in France, and a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, first-class honors, from the University of Oxford. He also completed a year of post-doctoral study at the University of Chicago, Illinois.
He is a board observer at Advanced Microgrid Solutions, Sentient, Enbala, and Trillant.
Many of Daniel’s days begin at 5 a.m., when he listens to the Test Match Special cricket match commentary on Internet radio.
