Kovit Kantapasara, previously Country Executive, GE Energy Thailand, Effective 1 January 2012, is the President & CEO, GE Thailand and Laos.
Mr. Kovit joined GE Energy business in 1994 as a Power Plant Project Sales Manager. He progressively moved up his career after leading several successfully assignments and got promoted to become Country Executive of GE Energy business Thailand in 2001 and finally appointed as Regional Executive for Indochina Region in 2005. During his tenure with GE Energy, he led the team to substantially grow GE business. With his successful track records, Mr. Kovit was again being recognized for his accomplishment in driving GE’s growth. In 2012 he was again promoted to his current role as President & CEO of GE and is responsible for all industrial businesses of GE in Thailand, Myanmar and Laos.
Before joining GE, Mr. Kovit was a managing director of a trading company. He spent 7 years working for leading local and multinational information technology companies in sales and marketing positions. During his sales leadership career at Digital Equipment Corporation, his sales team had won Global Excellence Sales Awards for three consecutive years.
Kovit was born on July 22, 1959 in Bangkok, Thailand. He got his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering at Chulalongkorn University and obtained his master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from University of Oklahoma.
