Customer stories

Can GE rewind my Dong Fang generator?

YES. In India, a Dong Fang Electric generator showed signs of earth fault, stopping any electricity production from the unit. After inspections, our teams advised a full rotor rewind and balancing at Sanand factory.

$4 million

customer savings

We were the only service provider able to meet an aggressive timeline of 55 days for a full rotor rewind, including engineering, coil removal, cleaning and reassembly, as well as balancing. We were able to deliver the equipment eight days in advance, saving $4 million USD for our customer.

Can GE quickly repair my Westinghouse steam turbine?

YES. We’re always improving our cycle times for repairs and spare parts delivery.

< 50

days

Last year in the United States—for a Westinghouse steam turbine experiencing high eccentricity and vibration at bearings—we were able to provide the best cycle time for repair compared to the original OEM. We performed the inspections, rotor straightening, 24 blade replacements, and reassembly in less than 50 days.
