Our capability encompasses all aspects of modeling, design and application of cryogenic and superconducting technologies to engineer prototype superconducting machinery for industrial and healthcare applications. It includes electromagnetic and multi-physics modeling, cryogenic systems design, mastery of superconducting material properties for systems design, and optimization and prototyping of superconducting machines. In the biomedical space, we apply this capability to the design, fabrication and deployment of novel superconducting MRI magnets for breakthrough research and commercial applications. Examples include the first research 3T low cryogen compact MRI magnet for exquisite brain imaging and the first high-field open MRI magnet for open-access image-guided interventions. Beyond the biomedical space, we have also applied this capability to design and prototype superconducting generators and magnets for wind power generation, motors, and mine-sweeping.
