Sree Vetukuri graduated with a PhD from Carnegie Mellon University in 2011 in Chemical Engineering with a specialization in optimization. Prior to his PhD, Sree obtained his B.Tech from JNTU, Hyderabad, India and M.Tech from IIT Madras, India, both in Chemical Engineering.
As a Lead Controls Systems Engineer at GE Research, Dr. Vetukuri conducts novel research in the development of cutting-edge optimization and control algorithms, which have diverse applications in the water and power generation industries. His work impacts current GE Power initiatives to develop automation technologies for optimal operation of power plants. Specifically, he plays a key role in the development and deployment of Dispatch Optimization technology to optimize plant performance in real-time, leading to significant revenue improvement with negligible added risk of part failure.
He has received multiple GE Research awards including the Dushman Technology Excellence award, Physical & Digital integration award and Technology achievement award.
