Raghav Rao is an Experimental Metallurgist with 18+ yrs expertise in advanced 'alloy-design & processing/manufacturing' of Ni/Co Superalloys, Structural materials selection, Braze or Weld alloys & Aluminide coatings, electron microscopy characterization and computational thermodynamics. His primary interest and expertise lies at the intersection of material technologies with Aviation, Energy/Power, Marine &Industrial applications.
Raghav has been supporting the GE Research Materials Modeling Team as well as leading programs on several Additive manufacturing technologies. He is the GRCB SPOC for co-ordinating repair services programs of Aviation and Gas turbine hot-section component hardware. Raghav has demonstrated expertise in joining Superalloys & Ceramics, Mechanical behavior & Oxidation/Corrosion of structural materials. Additional experience includes working with functional materials such as NiTi shape memory alloys, FeCo soft ferromagnetics, Alnico, rare-earth magnets, Spark plug alloys (Pt-Ir).
Raghav Rao joined GE Research, Niskayuna in late 2010 and moved to GE Research, Bangalore in early 2013.
