Dr. Michael Schutten received his Ph.D. and Master’s degrees in Electric Power Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He is a principal engineer at GE Research, where he has worked for the last 31 years. Mike has developed several high density, low noise power converters for consumer, industrial and military applications. He has also designed several novel EMI mitigation methods. His areas of expertise include electromagnetic interference, power electronics, nonlinear control theory, and analog electronics. Dr. Schutten has 31 issued patents, with several additional pending. Mike has taught several EMI courses at universities, government laboratories, and IEEE conferences. He is a senior member of the IEEE.
