Matt Guyette leads Business Research & Strategy for GE Research. Matt and his team partner with the business leaders to develop & deliver the strategy, funding & execution of GE’s business research programs. These technical roadmaps utilize GE Research’s unique interdisciplinary expertise to solve the business’s toughest technical problems, imagine their future and deliver science-based-differentiation for GE product & services.

Business Research is comprised of Business Program Managers (BPMs) for each Tier 1 business who influence & execute business technology roadmaps, ensure GE research aligns with business priorities, and accelerate technology adoption in GE’s products.

Prior to GRC, Matt was with GE Power where he most recently served as the Chief Strategy & Marketing Officer. While there, he was responsible for driving market analytics and delivering a growth strategy for the business. These initiatives included a refresh of every major product line, regional prioritization and growth strategies - delivering more than $15B of operating margin over his three years in that role. Prior to that role he was the market development GM and a product line leader for GE Renewable Energy. In this role, Matt led a team that developed the business strategy for GE’s wind and solar product lines. Matt helped lead the dramatic turnaround of GE’s renewable energy business from a small bankrupt acquisition to a more than $7 billion industry leader.

Matt has been with GE for 20 years, with roles in both GE Energy and GE Global Research. He has held key leadership positions in product line, market development, supply chain, and research.  Matt earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Union College in Schenectady, NY, and an MBA from the University of Rochester’s Simon School in Rochester, NY.  He and his wife Kristina live in Slingerlands, NY, with their four children.
