Mark Osterlitz serves as a Lead Specialist in the Radiation Imaging Lab at GE Research in Niskayuna NY specializing in industrial inspection using state-of-the-art x-ray imaging technologies.
Mark has over 30 years' experience in material science and nondestructive testing and continues striving to make the world a safer place to live.
One of his most rewarding projects was teaming up with fantastic talent to bring GE Healthcare's x-ray detector technology to the aircraft engine test stand. Among other milestones, this solution sped the development of GE's most powerful engine, the GE9X, by providing designers a direct way to measure dimensions and critical clearances throughout thermal transients of a running engine.
Mark has brought his expertise to over 15 countries and nearly every state in the US from the oil and gas industry to nuclear power and the military.
Mark has a passion for helping next generation technologies come to fruition and serving the community through several STEM outreach initiatives.
He serves on the Board of Directors for the Mohawk Hudson Section of the American Society for Nondestructive Testing.
