Kaivalya completed his graduate studies from Georgia Institute of Technology in December 2018. In his engagement as a postdoc in the Controls and Optimization group at GE Research since February 2018 his work is focused on planning and control algorithms for the next generation Trip Optimizer, an autonomous cruise control system for freight trains, and direct-metal-laser-melting 3D printers. He is passionate about contributing to the autonomy problem of systems in uncertain environments based on robust and learning-control philosophies.
