Gautam joined GE Research in 2014, after multiple stints as an R&D Intern at GE Research in Niskayuna and Bangalore. During his time at GE Research, Gautam has made significant contributions to product design and development for many GE businesses, but primarily Aviation and Renewables. He has been an integral part of a GE Research team that focused on design of numerous LEAP and GE9X components, like the fan blades, fan case, and structural frames, which have been tested and installed on the prototype engines. Gautam has also been instrumental in the design of on-shore and off-shore wind turbine blade and nacelle structures.
Gautam's expertise include structural analysis using mechanics and CAE (CAD/FEA), design optimization (topology, size, shape, DOE-based methods), additive manufacturing, composites, and experimental validation. He has a Masters from Purdue University, and a PhD from Northwestern University.
