MS, Materials Science (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute) BA, Physics (Coe College)

Berlin Crist is a materials engineer whose background focuses on modeling and simulation design, controls, and optimization. They are strongly interested in renewable and sustainable technology, and have pursued this through research projects working on grid-scale renewable energy storage with the Reservoir as well as the next generation of wind turbine technology. Their simulation experience has had them programming polycrystal microstructure development models in C++, lithium cell degradation models in Python, and procedural finite element models of wind turbine components including blade joints, bearings, and towers in ANSYS.
