PhD, Mechanical Engineering (Georgia Institute of Technology, 2013) MS, Mechanical Engineering (Georgia Institute of Technology, 2011) BE, Mechanical Engineering (Jadavpur University, India, 2008)

Ananda is a Senior Mechanical Engineer in the Mechanics and Design discipline at GE Research, and currently leads technology development in the area of Additive Manufacturing.

He has strong expertise in computational solid mechanics, structural design and optimization, nonlinear FEA, materials behavior for aero and aero-derivative engines, wind turbines, transportation and O&G applications.

Since joining GE Research in 2013, Ananda has led research and development in the area of structural analysis of jet engine components, including optimization of LEAP and GE9X jet engine components for reduced weight and improved performance. He has also focused on design for additive manufacturing (DFAM), leading to the development of methods and software tools that will enable engineers in the industry to create new parts for additive manufacturing.

In his current role, he leads multiple efforts at the GE Research focusing on maturation of an emerging additive modality - metal Binder Jet 3D printing.

Ananda received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology. He has 24 filed/12 issued patents, and has authored over 10 peer reviewed publications having 500+ citations.
