Ahmed Elghandour

Ahmed joined GE Research in July 2021 as a lead engineer in the Structural Lab. Currently, Ahmed is working on a project with GE Aviation where he is focused on evaluating a redesign of an aircraft engine component.

Ahmed interned with GE Research's Structural Lab in 2014 while earning his PhD from the University of Illinois at Chicago. In 2017, he joined an Ansys Elite Channel Partner (Ozen Engineering, Inc) in California where he polished his technical skills and acquired in-depth knowledge of Ansys tools and industrial problem solving. Ahmed worked on multiple consulting projects (structural and thermal) in different industries.

With expertise in structural analysis, Ahmed is well versed in FEA tools (mainly Ansys), multiphysics analysis, thermal management, and digital twin.

He holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago, a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Cairo University, Egypt.
