Aditya Kumar got his B.Tech from IIT Kanpur, in 1991 and a Ph.D. from University of Minnesota in 1997 in Chemical Engineering with a specialization in nonlinear model-based controls. The PhD research resulted in a research monograph "Control of Nonlinear Differential-Algebraic Equation Systems".
He started his career at GE Research in 1999 as a senior control system engineer, progressing to a Lab Manager and currently is a Sr. Principal Engineer in Controls & Optimization. Through his career, he has worked on and led multiple programs for modeling & estimation, advanced controls and optimization for multiple GE businesses including Appliances, Plastics, Water, Power and Aviation. Some key programs include modeling & controls for IGCC, multivariable controls for F136 engine and refinery desalter dynamic modeling. Currently, he's leading the effort on Dispatch Optimizer, a digital product for the GE Power business delivering new value for gas power plant customers and GE. He has received multiple GRC awards including the Dushman Technology Excellence award, Physical & Digital integration award and Technology achievement awards.
