GE Partners with Lynn Tech Students

Aviation is facing an industry-wide shortage of trained machinists needed to fill a variety of critical manufacturing jobs — which is why GE is creating talent pipelines with colleges, technical schools, and universities.

At our River Works plant in Lynn, Massachusetts, GE is partnering with the Lynn Vocational Technical Institute (LVTI) to develop a cooperative work program that will cultivate a new generation of well-trained GE machinists.

Read more about the program here.

Students in the program will alternate between a week of school and a 40-hour work week at GE Aviation where they will be paired with an employee mentor and learn the skillset required to become a machinist.

GE is proud to prepare hard-working students for careers at facilities across the United States.
