Our facility saw a 5" reduction in GT backpressure as a direct result of the GE Pressure Wave cleaning on a single HRSG, from 23" H2O down to 18" H2O. This increased plant summer output by around 5 MW total from just a single HRSG cleaning. Winter output had been limited due to the increased mass flow, and backpressure surpassing the trip limits. The cleaning allowed us to avoid a 20+ MW reduction in winter output by gaining margin to the exhaust pressure trip limit

How it works
Compared with traditional HRSG cleaning methods, PressureWave Plus provides a more effective and efficient cleaning. How?
Complete HRSG cleaning easily while offline
PressureWave Plus cleanings can be completed in parallel to regularly scheduled gas turbine maintenance, reducing plant downtime.
No scaffolding needed
A special lance is introduced into the area between the pressure part modules. A bag at the end of the lance is then inflated with a combustible mixture which is ignited remotely.
No damage to tubing during cleaning
The resulting pressure wave and tube vibrations dislodge deposits without damaging tubing, and is repeated in many locations.
A fast, deep cleaning
Once the HRSG tubing is thoroughly cleaned, the debris is removed from the floor of the unit.
