The Human Machine Interface (HMI) is the graphical operator interface to the control system. The HMI applications software allows the user to effectively control the gas turbine during operation, as well as to monitor live and historical turbine operating data.

What Can Upgrading Do for You?

The upgrade will provide the latest HMI hardware and software, providing a reliable solution and replacing a potentially obsolete platform. The fully integrated and tested HMI and control system solution reduces installation and commissioning time and increases HMI quality. The HMI application software is engineering change controlled and archived to provide recovery services in the event of an HMI computer failure.

Using currently supported Windows 7 operating systems with the latest HMI application versions provides faster replacement of computer hardware as well as access to latest security patching and operating system support.

How we get you there

The new HMI may be either rack-mounted in the Turbine Control Panel or be a separate desktop unit. Current HMIs are based on the Windows 7 operating system and will be preloaded with HMI application software that is control system specific.

  • HMI’s for Woodward controls systems are typically loaded with the iFIX graphical user interface (GUI), Woodward Monitor Gap, Woodward Control Assistant, and Woodward Application Manager.
  • HMI’s for the Mark VI may include Cimplicity 8.X or Wonderware 10.X GUI, ControlST software suite including Legacy Toolbox, and Proficy Machine Edition 8.X.
  • The Mark VIe HMI’s typically include the Cimplicity 8.X GUI, and the ControlST software suite including WorkstationST software for management of HMI and Historian functions.
