Citizenship

At GE, being a good corporate citizen is more than a program or a set of good intentions. It’s a full-time commitment to finding sustainable solutions to benefit the planet, its people and the economy. It’s embedded in our culture and our business strategy. It’s working to solve some of the world's biggest challenges. It inspires our thinking and drives actions.

GE Volunteers in Poland

The GE Foundation’s Life Skills for Employability program, launched in 2006 in Hungary and Poland, equips young people ages 14 to 18 with a range of life skills that will help them stay in school and get an education, and professional skills to boost their confidence so that they can lead successful lives. The GE Foundation also supports the Scholar-Leaders program, which enables more than 360 university students from Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania to develop leadership skills.

Our Engineering Design Center provides scholarships to local students at the Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology. In addition to financial support, this scholarship seeks to motivate young people to study engineering by enabling them to participate in internships, arranging meetings with some of our local engineers and by providing career development trainings.
