First GE Locomotives Arrive in Nigeria

New technology for Nigeria's rail system

Erie, Pennsylvania, USA and Lagos, Nigeria (February 5, 2010) The Nigerian Ministry of Transport and GE Transportation announced today that the Nigerian Railway Corporation has taken delivery of the first five C25 diesel locomotives -- introducing new technology to Nigeria's rail system. The locomotives will be used for both freight and passenger service. The remaining 20 locomotives will be delivered in the second half of 2010.

Fourth Quarter Earnings

GE announced  fourth-quarter 2009 earnings from continuing operations (attributable to GE) of $3.0 billion, or $0.28 per share.  Revenues were $41.4 billion for the quarter and $157 billion for the year.
