ALGIERS, Algeria--25 November 2008-- Taking another important step toward meeting Algeria's growing energy needs, state-owned power company Sonelgaz has signed service agreements with GE Energy worth more than US $1 billion. The service agreements will help to improve efficiency, output and reliability of 51 gas turbines installed in 13 power plants across the country.

U.S. trade mission ends three-decade moratorium on nuclear cooperation
WILMINGTON, N.C.--24 November 2008-- Jack Fuller, President and CEO of GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GEH), will lead a 50-member U.S. trade mission to India Dec. 2-9, the first civilian nuclear energy delegation to visit India since the nations signed the 123 Agreement ending a three-decade ban on civilian nuclear cooperation.
Construction of West-to-East Pipeline Running Well Ahead of Schedule
FLORENCE, Italy--24 November 2008-- GE Oil & Gas recently completed work ahead of schedule for two of the final four compression stations being built for an expansion of China's landmark West-to-East Gas Pipeline, increasing the supply of natural gas to Shanghai prior to the upcoming harsh winter season.
SECUNDA, South Africa--20 November 2008-- GE Energy announced today that it has signed a 15-year service agreement with South African oil and gas company Sasol. Under the agreement, GE Energy will provide around-the-clock monitoring and diagnostics of Sasol's new power plant in Secunda, which could help ease South Africa's energy crisis.
At the end of October, Jeff Immelt, GE's Chairman and CEO, hosted the official launch of GE's sponsorship of the London 2012 Olympic Games, with an event which brought together a range of stakeholders responsible for the delivery of the Games. This included more than 250 senior executives from the public and private sectors, including the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG) and the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA).
Efficiency Improvements Could Impact More than 150,000 Turkish Homes
