As Europe ramps up its investment in wind power, turbines have bloomed like wildflowers across the continent. Wind-energy production has more than doubled — from 150 terawatt-hours in 2010 to 364 terawatt-hours in 2017 — and now makes up more than 11 percent of the European Union’s electricity, according to a report by Agora Energiewende and Sandbag.

Every year, thousands of tourists travel to the northwestern corner of Castellón, a province on Spain’s Mediterranean coast, to visit some of Europe’s oldest and most plentiful cave paintings, dating back to the Stone Age. With rich images depicting archers hunting stags, boars and bears, as well as other scenes, the caves are now a UNESCO World Heritage site and have survived for millennia thanks to the area’s hot and dry weather — the same conditions that lured the world’s largest maker of blades for wind turbines to the area.

GE appoints Duncan Berry as Chief Executive Officer of LM Wind Power

Amsterdam, The Netherlands - 14 March 2018 - GE Renewable Energy Business has appointed Duncan Berry as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of LM Wind Power. He will succeed Marc de Jong, CEO since June 2015, who will leave the company at the end of April 2018.

Duncan Berry was appointed to his current role as LM Integration Leader in September 2016. He is presently responsible for all aspects of integrating LM into GE following acquisition in April 2017.
