As part of this agreement South Australia's first Cyclotron™ is currently being installed and will be operated out of the new world class health and biomedical precinct that includes SAHMRI, the Royal Adelaide Hospital and the University of South Australia.

GEヘルスケア（本社：英チャルフォント セントジャイルズ、プレジデント兼CEO：ジョン・ディニーン）は10月25日（金）、同社が開発を進めるPET（陽電子断層撮影）検査向けのβ（ベータ）アミロイド検出用放射性薬剤「Vizamyl（ビザミル）」が、米食品医薬品局（FDA）の承認を受けたことを発表しました。Vizamylは Flutemetamol F18注射剤で、アルツハイマー病や他の認知障害が疑われる成人患者の脳内で見られる老人斑の主成分であるβアミロイドの沈着を画像化します*1。 VizamylはFDAに承認された唯一のカラー画像PET検査向けβアミロイド検出用薬剤で、モノクロではなくカラー画像での視覚的読影を可能にすることで、他の診断手法を補完する役割を果たします。Vizamylは2014年に上市予定です。

On October 7, biologist James E. Rothman received the 2013 Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine together with colleagues Randy W. Schekman and Thomas C. Südhof. Rothman is a professor of biomedical sciences at Yale. Over the last decade he has served as a senior advisor to GE Global Research in Niskayuna, NY. He is also a former chief scientist at GE Healthcare. GE Reports managing editor Tomas Kellner talked to Rothman last week about his discovery, innovation, and GE.

医療課題の解決に取り組むヘルスケアカンパニー、GEヘルスケア・ジャパン株式会社（本社：東京都日野市、代表取締役社長兼CEO：川上潤）は本日、取締役ヘルスケア統括本部長就任の役員人事を発表しました。

現執行役員サービス本部長である岡野克也（45歳）が、10月1日付で取締役ヘルスケア統括本部長に就任し、国内の営業及びサービス全般を統括します。これに伴い、代表取締役社長兼CEOの川上潤（50歳）のヘルスケア統括本部長兼任を解き、川上は弊社代表取締役社長として日本の事業統括全般に注力します。岡野の後任には、現アジアパシフィックビジネスオペレーション本部長である藤谷京子（47歳）が、同日付で執行役員サービス本部長に就任します。
