Chicago/Stockholm - May 9, 2022: GE Healthcare is proud to announce that it has entered into an agreement to collaborate with RaySearch Laboratories AB (publ), a leading radiation oncology software provider, to develop a new radiation therapy simulation and treatment planning workflow solution, designed to simplify how radiation will be targeted to shrink a tumor.

Instead of going to the hospital, Marely did the ultrasound herself, at home — but not because she’s a doctor. But to get on board, he was told, the 66-year-old GE retiree would have to be intubated, a procedure that would require him to be unconscious. Make your phone calls quickly, the doctor told him.

But the next-generation wireless networks, 5G, which can achieve data transmission speeds 10 to 100 times faster than we’re currently used to, could quickly change the status quo again. 5G has big implications for everything from gaming and shopping to advancing the promise of smart buildings, appliances and cars. One industry it could alter dramatically is healthcare.
