On July 16, one pendulum started to swing in Niskayuna, N.Y. Nearly 3,000 miles away, in San Jose, Calif., another weight hung from a fixed point also oscillated back and forth.
The motion of the first pendulum was slightly off from the other. At one point, software in New York sent a command to equipment attached to the pendulum in California to fix its movement so that the two remote instruments would swing identically (see video below).

  • GE Oil & Gas and Santos GLNG have signed a Long Term Service Agreement (LTSA) for Santos GLNG’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility on Curtis Island, Queensland, Australia.
  • The contract KPIs include technology availability and reliability, reflecting GE’s faith in the quality of its products and services.
  • Santos GLNG is expected to produce first LNG around the end of the third quarter 2015.

Ge与中国电信战略合作 工业互联网在中国落地

北京， 2015年7月7日，今天，在“当智慧遇上机器--工业互联网中国峰会”上，通用电气（GE）公司与中国电信集团依据已经签署的战略合作协议启动合作，宣布GE工业互联网大数据软件平台与中国电信的电信基础设施和增值服务对接，形成工业互联网整体解决方案，推动工业互联网在航空、医疗、能源、工业制造和其他相关行业的应用，以创新成就非凡，为通过“互联网+”推动产业升级提供切实可行的发展路径。

根据合作协议，双方将探索利用GE公司的PredixTM软件服务平台及相关应用，和中国电信的电话、互联网接入及应用、移动通信、数据通信、视讯服务等多种类综合信息服务，为目标客户群提供应用解决方案。双方还将开展影像云储存、远程医疗应用、智能制造、云计算等领域的合作。

在工业互联网峰会上，来自航空、医疗和能源行业的用户代表分享了各自领域的工业互联网案例。迄今为止，GE已经在中国开展了12个工业互联网试点项目，逐步推动40多个大数据分析应用落地。以试点项目带来的效益核算，工业互联网将额外为中国航空、医疗和能源行业每年创造超过百亿元的增值。
