GE Names John F. Lynch Senior VP of Human Resources

FAIRFIELD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--GE Chairman and CEO Jeff Immelt today announced the appointment of John F. Lynch as Senior Vice President of Human Resources.

Lynch, 54, will succeed William J. Conaty, who is transitioning into retirement after 40 years of service to GE. The appointment is effective Jan. 8.

Shareholders will be asked to vote on an amendment to the company's certificate of incorporation that will require each nominee to the Board to receive an affirmative majority of the votes cast to be elected. This majority-voting standard will apply in uncontested elections.
