April 2016 - GE has recently signed a turn-key contract with TAMEH POLSKA (joint venture of ArcelorMittal Group and TAURON Group) for the construction of a complete Flue Gas Desulphurisation (FGD) and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) installations for 5 boilers at ZW Nowa heat and power plant in Dąbrowa Górnicza, Poland. Once the project is completed, ZW Nowa heat and power plant will comply with new, more stringent European emission norms.
February 2016 - GE’s Power Services business has secured orders valued approximately at €40 million with PGE GiEK S.A., (PGE Group - the largest utility in Poland), to upgrade generator and steam turbine asset at the Turow Power Plant. The upgrades will result in a combined 45 megawatt output increase, which is the equivalent of powering about 130.000 Polish households.
February 2016 - PKN Orlen's gas and steam unit in Włocławek has successfully implemented its first synchronization with the Polish national grid. This was made possible with GE’s ‘Power Train’ and, as a result, the first deliveries of electricity from the new CCGT plant went to the grid.

On October 9 2015 inauguration of the Biomedical Research Center took place at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW). GE Healthcare contributes to research into diseases that pose serious risks to public health, and is bringing an innovative edge to the Center.

September 2015 - GE has provided PGE with 16 of its 2.5-100 wind turbines to power the new Karwice Wind Farm, located 15 kilometers from Darłowo. The turbines have the capacity to produce a total power output of 40 MW, which could provide the equivalent power needed for 35,000 European homes. The wind farm cost €68.7 million, and was co-financed by EU.
