GE chairman and CEO Jeff Immelt was in Kuala Lumpur recently (Sept 22), and although he had a hectic schedule, including a meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, he made sure to spend some time with his GE colleagues in Malaysia.

More than 400 employees attended the townhall and hi-tea with Immelt at Hilton Kuala Lumpur. Below are excerpts from the townhall session.

GE Chairman and CEO Jeff Immelt says he uses his undergraduate degree in mathematics more often than his Harvard MBA. “I use my math major every day, I don't use the MBA quite as much," Immelt told Business Insider’s Henry Blodget at the publication’s IGNITION 2015 conference. “I think most things that are about companies are about problem solving,” Immelt said.

GE Chairman and CEO Jeff Immelt took over Studio 8H inside New York’s 30 Rockefeller Plaza this afternoon to give his annual vision for the company in 2016 today. Addressing a crowd of investors and analysts who packed the theater – best known as the set of Saturday Night Live – Immelt outlined the steps he’s made to turn GE into the world’s largest digital industrial company. "We're the only company that will have the machines, analytics and operating systems," he said.
