GE To Supply China's Ministry Of Railways With 300 Locomotives

Delivery of Units to Begin in 2007

ERIE, Pa. and BEIJING, China (November 1, 2005) -- General Electric today announced that it has signed a contract worth more than $450 million with theChinese Ministry of Railways (MoR). Under the agreement, GE, in an industrial cooperation with Qishuyan Locomotive and Rolling Stock Works (QLW), will supply three hundred 6,000-horsepower locomotives.

ERIE, Pa. and BEIJING, China (November 8, 2004) -- GE Transportation, a unit of General Electric Company (NYSE:GE), announcedtoday that it has received an order for 78 locomotives from China's Ministry ofRailways. China currently operates approximately 400 GE locomotives and GE has operated a successful locomotive parts business in China for many years.The 78 locomotives represent the first units sold to China by GE since 1985.

The new locomotives will be officially introduced for sale beginning in January 2005.
