Acquisition to Expand GE's Wireless Healthcare Presence in Europe
GE Medical Systems Information Technologies, a business unit of the General Electric Company (NYSE: GE), today has finalized the acquisition of Danica Biomedical A/S, a Denmark-based provider of telemetry systems for healthcare organizations. The acquisition will allow GE to offer European healthcare providers with highly advanced wireless technologies that have EU radio frequency compliance, so patient information can be provided directly to physicians and nurses securely wherever they are in the hospital.

EVENDALE, Ohio - January 8, 2002 - GE Engine Services (GEES), a division of GE Aircraft Engines has signed a definitive agreement to purchase Unison Industries Inc. The transaction, terms of which were not disclosed, will be completed upon receipt of various regulatory approvals.
Unison, a privately held company headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, sells and services turbine ignitions, wiring harnesses, alternators, piston ignitions, sensors and switches to the aerospace and power generation industries.
