GE Energy Signs Contract with NuStart Nuclear Consortium for Design and License of ESBWR

WILMINGTON, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 6, 2005--GE Energy has signed an agreement with NuStart Energy Development LLC, under which GE will design and seek an NRC license for its next-generation ESBWR (Economic Simplified Boiling Water Reactor) for one of two proposed projects to be sited at existing U.S. nuclear power plants.

GE to Supply IHI with LM2500 Gas Turbines to Power Japan's 16DDH Destroyer

May 4, 2005 -- EVENDALE, Ohio - GE Transportation's marine gas turbine business announced it will supply Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries, Co. Ltd. (IHI) with four GE LM2500 aeroderivative gas turbines. The engines will power the first of a new class of Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force's (JMSDF) helicopter-carrying destroyers.
The first vessel will be know as the 16DDH, and it is anticipated that at least one additional DDH destroyer will be built in the coming years.

GMF AeroAsia Signs Component Repair Contract with GE

April 26, 2005 -- JAKARTA, Indonesia - GMF AeroAsia and GE Transportation Aircraft Engines today signed a two-year component repair contract worth approximately $10 million over the life of the contract.
GMF AeroAsia, the maintenance arm of Garuda Indonesian Airlines, was established in 1984. Today, it provides maintenance and overhaul support of the engines in the airline's fleet, in addition to supporting other third-party customers at its facilities in Jakarta.
GE's service facility in Singapore will provide the majority of the component repair under the new contract.

Air Canada Orders GE90-powered Boeing 777s

April 25, 2005 -- EVENDALE, OHIO - Air Canada has ordered 18 Boeing extended-range 777 aircraft, powered by GE90 engines, along with purchase rights for an additional 18 777 aircraft.
The value of the GE90 engine order for the firm aircraft is more than $600 million.
The 777 aircraft fleet will be a yet-to-be-determined mix of 777-300ERs, 777-200LRs, and the 777 Freighter. Air Canada's 777 deliveries are scheduled to begin next year with the arrival of three 777-300ERs.
