Qatar Airways Signs MoU for $1.6 Billion GEnx Engine Order for Its New A350 Fleet

September 14, 2005 -- EVENDALE, Ohio - Qatar Airways have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with General Electric Company for the GEnx engine to power the airline's new fleet 60 Airbus A350 aircraft.
The GEnx order from Qatar Airways is valued at more than $1.6 billion, and represents the largest single order for GE's newest engine under development.

LONDON & FREIBERG, Germany--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 13, 2005--GE's Energy Financial Services unit, in its third investment in wind power generation in Germany, announced today an agreement to acquire the 55-megawatt Alsleben project from EAB Technology Group. GE's Energy Financial Services unit provided the equity and will secure long-term senior debt financing from local banks. Financial terms were not disclosed.

UPS selected GE's CF6-80C2 engines to power its new eight Boeing 747-400F aircraft. The value of the engine deal was not disclosed. Aircraft deliveries begin in 2007.

September 02, 2005 -- NARITA CITY, JAPAN - General Electric congratulates Japan Airlines (JAL) on the completion of its first GE90 engine overhaul at JAL's GE90 Center of Excellence (CoE) facility at the Narita International Airport in Narita City, Japan.
JAL opened the GE90 CoE in 2004 as a regional provider of overhaul, maintenance and repair for GE90 engines. This engine is the first GE90 overhauled in Asia. As the Boeing 777 fleet expands, the number of GE90 engines being serviced at JAL's GE90 CoE is expected to grow.

Nippon Cargo Airlines Orders GE CF6 Engines to Power Boeing 747 Aircraft

September 01, 2005 -- EVENDALE, OHIO - Nippon Cargo Airlines (NCA) has selected GE CF6-80C2 engines to power four Boeing 747-400F aircraft. The engine deal is valued at more than $150 million. Aircraft delivery will begin in 2007.
Since its inaugural flight between Japan and the U.S. in 1985, NCA has been the only air-cargo-transport company in Japan. The company has steadily increased its number of aircraft and enhanced its transport performance.
