September 01, 2004 -- EVENDALE, Ohio - Azerbaijan Hava Yollari (AZAL) today announced the selection of CFM56-5B engines to power its new fleet of three Airbus A319s and one Airbus Corporate Jetliner (ACJ). The engine order is valued $45 million at list price.
CFM56-5 engines are produced by CFM International, a 50/50 joint company between Snecma Moteurs and General Electric Company.
The Azerbaijan flag carrier, based in Baku, will begin taking delivery of its new aircraft in 2005. This is the airline's first order for CFM56 engines.

August 25, 2004 -- EVENDALE, OH--Singapore Airlines (SA) has signed a letter of intent to purchase up to 31 GE90-powered Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
Eighteen of the 31 aircraft are firm orders for delivery between 2006 and 2010. SA has purchased rights for the remaining 13 aircraft.
The potential value of the GE90 engine order for the 18 firm aircraft is more than $800 million.

August 18, 2004 -- EVENDALE, OH -- General Electric's GE90 engine family has logged five million flight-hours and more than one million engine cycles powering Boeing's 777 twin-engine aircraft.
The first GE90 engine, the GE90-85B, entered service in November 1995 with British Airways. Since then, the engine family has grown to include several higher-thrust derivative engines and has set a world's record at 127,900 pounds of thrust.

August 13, 2004 -- EVENDALE, Ohio -- General Electric Company has reached agreement in principle with two international aerospace companies to become revenue-sharing participants (RSPs) on GE's new GEnx jet engine.
Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries (IHI) of Japan, and Avio SpA. of Italy will be responsible for the design and manufacture of approximately 27 percent of the GEnx engine program, which is initially targeted for the Boeing 7E7 application.

August 9, 2004 -- LYNN, MASSACHUSETTS -- General Electric's CT7-8A turboshaft engines will power 28 Sikorsky H-92 Cyclone helicopters ordered last month by the Canadian government.
Selected as part of Canada's US$3-billion Maritime Helicopter Project (MHP), the twin-engine H-92s will perform anti-submarine patrols, surveillance and ship-borne duties, and a wide range of utility roles such as Search and Rescue support, cargo and personnel transport, and disaster relief support. The first aircraft will be delivered in 2008.

August 03, 2004 -- EVENDALE, Ohio - GE Transportation's marine business received United States Navy certification for its LM2500+ aeroderivative gas turbine. The LM2500+ has been certified by the U.S. Navy for 35,000 brake horsepower (bhp) for mechanical drive applications.
The LM2500+ received the certification for use powering the U.S. Navy's eighth LHD and follow-on ships in the WASP (LHD 1) class of large-deck, multipurpose amphibious assault ships.

July 23, 2004 -- FARNBOROUGH - The first GE Rolls-Royce F136 development engine for the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) program has successfully begun ground-testing on July 22 at GE's facility in Evendale, Ohio, USA. The F136 engine, in the Conventional Take-off/Landing (CTOL) configuration, was fired up for the first time to perform an idle leak check, and began its initial mechanical and controls evaluation.
