February 04, 2005 -- EVENDALE, Ohio - Japan Airlines today announced that it will purchase 30 firm, 10 option CFM56-7B-powered Boeing 737 aircraft scheduled to begin delivery in 2006. The firm engine order is valued at approximately $360 million at list price.
CFM56-7B engines are produced by CFM International (CFM), the world's leading transport aircraft engine supplier and a 50/50 joint company of Snecma Moteurs and General Electric Company.
February 03, 2005 -- General Electric Company has successfully completed assembly and installation in the test rig of its first F136 Short Takeoff Vertical Landing (STOVL) test engine for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Program. The engine is slated to begin ground testing this month at GE's outdoor test facility in Peebles, Ohio, USA.

January 20, 2005 -- EVENDALE, OHIO - January 20, 2005 - General Electric Company has structured agreements with five world-class aero-engine manufacturers on the new GEnx engine.
The five international companies combine for an approximately 36 percent share of the new GEnx engine, which is under development to power the Boeing 7E7 and Airbus A350 twin-engine aircraft.
The five companies are Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries (IHI) of Japan, Avio SpA of Italy, Volvo Aero of Sweden, Techspace Aero of Belgium and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) of Japan.

December 9, 2004 -- EVENDALE, Ohio -- GE Transportation's marine gas turbine business has launched a program to obtain American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) certification, to the Steel Vessel and the new Naval Vessel Rules, for its LM6000 aeroderivative gas turbine. GE plans to certify the LM6000 at a power level greater than 36 megawatts based on United States Navy standard day conditions (100oF).
