GECAS and Colorful Guizhou Airlines have agreed to a lease agreement for four A320neo aircraft from the lessor’s orderbook, with deliveries beginning in late 2019 and continuing into 2020. Headquartered in Guiyang, south west of China, this agreement marks the airline’s foray as a narrowbody operator.
Dublin, Ireland – 11 June 2019 – GECAS has today announced the appointment of Priscilla Branco as its new Regional Manager for Latin America & Caribbean (LAC). Priscilla, a native of Rio de Janeiro, has over a decade of experience working in the aviation sector in the LAC market. In this role, she will be responsible for developing and executing the commercial strategy for GECAS’ fixed wing aircraft for the region.

GECAS and Oz Management (NYSE: OZM) (“Oz”) announced today the closing of STARR 2019-1. In this transaction GECAS is selling twenty in-production Boeing and Airbus narrowbodies to START II Ltd. With an average aircraft age of less than six years, the diversified portfolio includes aircraft currently on lease to 13 airlines in 11 countries and has total appraised value of approximately $589mn.
GECAS has delivered AEI’s inaugural passenger-to-freighter converted 737-800 to Ethiopian Airlines, national flag carrier of Ethiopia. Completing the conversion of the prototype aircraft in December, Aeronautical Engineers Inc (AEI) has now received the supplemental type certification (STC) from the US Federal Aviation Administration for their 737-800SF.
