【2017年10月2日】GEは2017年9月30日にスエズへのGEウォーター＆プロセス・テクノロジー（水処理事業）の売却を完了したと発表しました。売却額は34億ドルとなります。

GEは、2016年10月末に、ウォーター＆プロセス・テクノロジーを売却する計画を発表しました。これは、ベーカー・ヒューズの製品ラインと一部重複があったためです。ベーカー・ヒューズとGEの統合は、2017年7月3日に正式に完了が発表されました。

GEパワー（以下GE）は、設計・調達・建設（EPC）を所管した株式会社東芝経由で7HAガスタービンを納入した中部電力株式会社の西名古屋火力発電所7-1号の商業運転が開始されたことをお知らせします。GEの最高効率のガスタービン7HAと東芝製蒸気タービンを活用し、運転を開始した西名古屋火力発電所7-1号は、世界最高水準となる発電効率62%以上を実現し、1,188.2MWを発電します。この出力は、GE試算では、日本において約40万世帯に電力を供給する事が可能となります。
商業運転の開始という大きな節目は、中部電力、東芝そしてGEにおける、高効率の火力発電設備の実現に向けた数年におよぶ緊密な協業の成果です。中部電力は、約40年間稼働してきた既設の発電所をリフレッシュすることで、国や行政が求める、よりクリーンで高効率な発電手法を追求しました。この結果、中部電力は、高効率で運用面の柔軟性に優れた大型ガスタービンを選定し、LNGを燃料とし、低NOxの多軸型（3on1）コンバインドサイクル発電を導入することとなりました。
