ATLANTA--12 February 2009-- Hydro-Québec, one of the largest electric utilities in North America, has selected GE Energy to perform a turbine island refurbishment that will extend the reliable operating life of the 675-megawatt Gentilly-2 nuclear generating station, a major supplier of electricity for Montreal and Québec City in Canada.
GE Gas Turbine Technology to Add 2,000 Megawatts of Power to Help Meet Kingdom's Energy Needs
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia--11 February 2009-- GE Energy has signed a contract for nearly $1 billion to supply more than 30 Frame 7EA gas turbines for the Saudi Electricity Company's (SEC) Riyadh Power Plant 10 (PP10). This project, the latest in a series of GE contracts for SEC power projects, will add 2,000 megawatts of much needed power to help support the region's dynamic economic and population growth.

GE's Coal Mine Gas Engines to be Installed at New Power Plant in First Quarter 2009
JENBACH, Austria--10 February 2009-- GE Energy today announced that two of its ecomaginationTM-certified Jenbacher coal mine methane (CMM) gas engines will contribute to China's efforts to reduce the amount of methane-rich greenhouse gases that escape from the nation's coal mines. The technology has been selected by the Sichuan Coal Group for its Furong project that will utilize the mine gas to generate onsite power for the active mine.
