PRINCETON, NJ, NOV. 21, 2008---A first-ever 208-person study comparing the renal safety, occurrence of cardiovascular adverse events and diagnostic image quality of GE Healthcare's isosmolar contrast media (CM) iodixanol (VisipaqueTM) and the low-osmolar CM iopromide in select patients concluded iodixanol is associated with lower incidence of contrast-induced neuropathy (CIN) and cardiovascular events (CV) than iopromide, when used in patients with chronic kidney disease.

Kenya among ten African countries to benefit from program
Nairobi, Kenya; October 17, 2008 - Kenya is among ten African countries that are set to benefit from General Electric's (GE) US$10 million worth of product, infrastructure and training plan to improve healthcare delivery services in Africa this year. Under the plan, GE has targeted to upgrade a total of 81 health facilities in Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Nigeria, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Malawi, Mali, and Senegal. The projects are at various stages of completion.
