Доказано, что при обнаружении злокачественных новообразований на ранней стадии шансы победить болезнь и вернуться к полноценной жизни существенно возрастают. Например, при раке молочной железы эти показатели составляют 70% [1]. Для рака легкого они достигают значений 58-73% при выявлении заболевания на I (первой) стадии [2].
