The joint venture, which Credit Suisse plans to form with GE Infrastructure, intends to invest in energy and transportation infrastructure assets worldwide. Each party plans to commit US$500 million to the joint venture.

GEプラスチックスは、現在同社が注力しているGlobal Application Technology（GApT：グローバル・アプリケーション・テクノロジー／用途開発技術）戦略における重要な取り組みの1つとして、自動車産業が抱える用途開発のニーズに応えるため、ハスキー社の最先端Quadloc射出圧縮成形機を導入し、GEのGApTチームによる顧客サポートを開始することを明らかにした。このたび導入したハスキー社製成形機は、型締力2700トンの超大型成形機で、最大投影面積1.5平方メートルまでの大型自動車外板部品の成形が可能であり、GEの専用樹脂を用いた軽量でデザイン性の高い車体外装パネルやグレージングの成形に利用される。
主な素材としては、GEのNoryl GTX* 変性PPO*樹脂とLexan* GLXポリカーボネート（PC）樹脂が使われる予定であり、前者はフロントフェンダーやその他の大型車体パネルのために使用され、後者はクォーターウィンドウやバックライトなどの自動車用グレージング部品のために使用される。
