中国北京-在近日举办的GE北重工厂投产10周年的庆典仪式上，GE发电集团宣布计划在位于中国的两家工厂为中东首家燃煤电厂提供核心设备制造及组装服务--位于迪拜的Hassyan清洁煤独立发电项目（IPP），将采用GE高效的超超临界蒸汽发电机和锅炉技术。项目的蒸汽轮机和发电机将在GE北重工厂制造并组装，锅炉设备将由GE武汉锅炉厂制造，而项目所需的环境控制系统将由GE位于北京的工程团队负责。该项目订单将计入公司2016年第二季度的财务报表，GE已经于7月22日公布二季度的收入详情。
