GEヘルスケアグループの日本法人であるGE横河メディカルシステム株式会社（本社：東京都日野市、社長：三谷宏幸）はこのほど、GEヘルスケア製64列の検出器配列を有すボリュームCT（コンピュータ断層撮影装置）に対応した新機能「Adaptive Technology（アダプティブ・テクノロジー）」を心臓・循環器、精密検査に特化した大学病院や地域の基幹病院、スクリーニング目的の心臓CT検査を実施するハートセンターなどを主対象に発売する。なお、「Adaptive Technology」の名称は、患者の状態に合わせてシステムを制御する患者本位の技術を意味する。

Doha, 13 July 2006: Doha Asian Games Organising Committee (DAGOC) and Global technology, media & financial services company General Electric (GE) Company today signed a strategic agreement announcing that GE will be an Official Partner for the 15th Asian Games Doha 2006. GE와 히타치(Hitachi)는 양 사의 원자력 발전소 및 서비스 사업을 통합하는 글로벌 합병회사 설립을 위한 협상 의향서를 체결했다. 이번 결정은 양 사의 기존 사업 부문을 강화하고, 신제품 및 서비스 발전을 가속화하며, 원자력 에너지 분야에서 양 사 통합을 통한 성장을 위한 것이다.
이번 거래는 히타치가 GE의 기존 원자력 사업의 40%를 소유하며, GE가 히타치의 기존 원자력 사업의 약 20%를 소유하는 상호 지분 교환 형식이 될 것이다.
양 사는 최종 합의 도출을 위해 필요한 모든 동의와 협상 절차를 감안할 때, 2007년 상반기에 거래가 완결될 것으로 예상하고 있다.
GE와 히타치는 새로운 합병회사 내에서 하나의 전략적 비전을 실행함으로써 산업 솔루션의 포트폴리오를 확대하고, 새로운 사업 기회를 위한 역량을 향상시키는 한편, 사업 투자 및 성장을 위한 자산을 창조하기 위해 노력할 것이다. GE와 히타치는 이 같은 노력이 고객 서비스 및 지원을 향상시킬 것으로 믿고 있다.
