2009년 6월 26일, 코네티컷 페어필드-- GE는 미시간주(州)에 첨단 제조기술 및 소프트웨어센터(The Advanced Manufacturing and Software Technology Center)를 설립한다고 오늘 발표했다. 이 센터는 수년 내 1,100명을 넘는 과학자와 기술자들을 GE 직원으로 고용할 것으로 기대된다.

Independent researchers conduct fuel test of GE and EMD model locomotives
Cairo, Egypt (July 8, 2009) - GE Transportation announced the results of a head-to-head fuel test in the United States between GE's Evolution® ES44AC and EMD's SD70ACe Tier 2 emissions-compliant locomotives. According to an independent research study GE's locomotives are over 6% more fuel-efficient compared to their EMD counterparts.
