GE Hitachi Ultrasonic Robot Completes Inspection of Buried Pipe at Texas Nuclear Power Plant

Robot is 6’ Long, Self-Propelled, Multi-Directional and Able to Snake Under Tall Buildings (or Nuclear Power Plants) in a Single Bound 

WILMINGTON, NC-December 9, 2014-GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GEH) announced today that its ultrasonic robot, Surveyor™, successfully inspected a section of underground pipe at the South Texas Project Electric Generating Station. The inspection at the site of two Westinghouse-built pressurized water reactors near Bay City, Texas, marks the first deployment of the state-of-the-art robot at a nuclear power plant.

GE Capital One of the First Lessors to Deliver Tank Cars Adhering to 2015 Worker Safety Appliance Standard

CHICAGO - GE Capital, Rail Services announced today it is delivering 875 tank cars that meet the 2015 Safety Appliance Standard to customers. GE Capital is one of the first lessors to offer tank cars that comply with the Association of American Railroads (AAR) Safety Appliance Standard S-2044 that was adopted by the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) in February. All railcars manufactured after January 2015 will be required to meet this new standard.
