The Service Centre will be managed by Gulf Turbine Services - a joint venture between General Electric and Gulf Aircraft Maintenance Company (GAMCO) which was established in November 2001 to carry out repairs on GE and non-GE designed gas turbine components in the UAE.

Further expanding its presence in the Latin American energy market, GE Power Systems has acquired full ownership of a GE-AES Gener SA joint venture based in Santiago, Chile which offers a broad range of services for power plants.
The joint venture, Servicios Integrales de Generacion de Energia Electrica SA, (SIGEN), formerly was owned 60% by GE and 40% by AES Gener SA. SIGEN now will be totally integrated into GE Power Systems' energy services business.

EVENDALE, Ohio--March 28, 2002--Malev Ltd., the national air carrier of Hungary, has ordered two firm and six option Bombardier CRJ200 extended range (ER) regional jet aircraft, powered by GE's CF34-3B1 engine. The potential engine value, including the option orders, is more than $32 million.
The two firm aircraft, which are scheduled to enter service in June and July of this year respectively, are the first regional jet aircraft purchased by the airline as part of its fleet development strategy aimed at strengthening its regional role.
