It is one of six projects that are part of a previously announced $900 million agreement for GE to supply gas turbine-based combined-cycle systems for China's Gas Turbine Power Plants Construction Project.

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (December 29, 2003) --- GE Power Systems has signed a contract to provide power generation equipment for the Lanzhou Meiya Cogeneration project in Lanzhou, People's Republic of China. It is one of six projects that are part of a $900 million agreement for GE to supply gas turbine-based combined-cycle systems for China's Gas Turbine Power Plants Construction Project.
The signing, held recently at the Chicago Board of Trade, was witnessed by Liao Xiao Qi, Vice Minister of Commerce and head of the electrical machinery procurement delegation from China.

December 22, 2003 -- EVENDALE, Ohio--The EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) has certified the GE90-115B, the world's most powerful jet engine, at an unprecedented 115,000 pounds of thrust.
EASA oversees regulatory tasks in the field of aviation safety for the European Union, which represents 16 countries and grows to 26 countries in 2004. The EASA approval follows the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) engine certification of the GE90-115B in July 2003.

First Uprated GE Frame 6FA Gas Turbines to Increase Performance of German Cogeneration Plant
