August 03, 2004 -- EVENDALE, Ohio - GE Transportation's marine business received United States Navy certification for its LM2500+ aeroderivative gas turbine. The LM2500+ has been certified by the U.S. Navy for 35,000 brake horsepower (bhp) for mechanical drive applications.
The LM2500+ received the certification for use powering the U.S. Navy's eighth LHD and follow-on ships in the WASP (LHD 1) class of large-deck, multipurpose amphibious assault ships.

FLORENCE, ITALY (August 3, 2004) --- Trans Pacific Petrochemical Indotama (TPPI) has awarded GE Energy a contract of more than US$21.5 million to supply three gas turbines and additional equipment for a petrochemical project in Tuban, East Java, Indonesia.
The three MS5001 gas turbines will be installed at a new power plant that will provide electricity for an aromatic plant at the TPPI petrochemical complex currently under construction in Tuban.
