AZAL CFM56-5B Order Valued at $45 Million

September 01, 2004 -- EVENDALE, Ohio - Azerbaijan Hava Yollari (AZAL) today announced the selection of CFM56-5B engines to power its new fleet of three Airbus A319s and one Airbus Corporate Jetliner (ACJ). The engine order is valued $45 million at list price.
CFM56-5 engines are produced by CFM International, a 50/50 joint company between Snecma Moteurs and General Electric Company.
The Azerbaijan flag carrier, based in Baku, will begin taking delivery of its new aircraft in 2005. This is the airline's first order for CFM56 engines.

Under the terms of a new, long-term cooperative agreement between GE Transportation - Aircraft Engines and NPO Saturn, NPO Saturn has begun testing GE and CFM commercial engines. Testing of the first engine, a CFM56-5B, was initiated on July 19 in test cell 26 at the NPO Saturn facility at Rybinsk, Russia

CFM56 engines are produced by CFM International, a 50/50 joint company of Snecma of France and General Electric.

Singapore Airlines Selects GE90-powered Boeing 777 fleet

August 25, 2004 -- EVENDALE, OH--Singapore Airlines (SA) has signed a letter of intent to purchase up to 31 GE90-powered Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
Eighteen of the 31 aircraft are firm orders for delivery between 2006 and 2010. SA has purchased rights for the remaining 13 aircraft.
The potential value of the GE90 engine order for the 18 firm aircraft is more than $800 million.
